i was told by my 'room mate' after my c section that i took the 'easy' option because i was so young and didnt want to birth my baby the 'hard' way. she was the sole reason i discharged myself from hospital 2 days before i was ment to go home because she was constantly putting me down.Quote:

C section is a hard option in that it takes much longer to recover (In the uk its advised that you dont driver for 6 weeks, doing any lifting or bending) and the change of death is about 3x greater - and a big abdominal wound will be painful . People are just soo cruel.

danni, theres nothing that states because you have had one c-section that all other births will be the same, like i said before it all depends greatly on the mother an medical history.
The c-section is something i want that will make me feel much safer because of past birth experience, but if the consultant refuses because my case dosnt warrant one then i will carry on as normal. Like they say, no two births are the same, he/she could refuse an i could go on to have a great birth without much medical intervention OR it could go tits up an ill have an emergency again. Only time will tell...
One of my very best friends had a C-section first time round and went on to have a "normal" birth the 2nd time. (Note: I say "normal" because I can't say the "V" word. Yes, I know, I am an idiot).
I had three "normal" births and count myself lucky that I didn't need surgery to help my babies out. I think every woman should do what is best for her and her baby and not worry about anyone else.
Just think, those of you to have had C-sections - at least you don;t have to hold yourself during vigorous coughing sessions.... ;)

Don't you have to have a c-section every time you give birth once you've had one?
My mum had 4 c-sections.
no, you can attempt a natural birth, but the doctors keep an eye on your scar as its dangerous if teh scar splits. Depends what the reason of the c section was in the first place too
What bekki says, iv known women to have 2 c-sections an then go on to have naturel birth, like i said before most midwifes will push for you to have naturel... if theres no risks involved.
I think its also changed on how many you can have now too, before it was 3... but iv been told some women have had upto 5 c-sections
