Just to chime in, I agree with Monkey.
However I'm not sure that I do believe in unconditional love at all. I think there's always some horrific offence you could commit that leads to people falling out of love with you.
I don't think that someone you're involved with in a relationship loves you unconditionally at all, that's why you break up if one person does something you can't live with. In the grand scheme of things it's quite easy to fall out of love with your partner. Most people seem to have their deal breakers.
The love you have as a parent, or for a parent, tends to be more 'unconditional'. You can cheat on your partner, stamp on kittens, rob your family for drug money, but chances are your mum still loves you. lol
took the words right out of my mouth Caz.
And i agree with you that true unconditional love doesn't really exist. I know there are ways i could make my parents hate me.
My mum doesn't love me, I'm an eyesore >.<
Yep. That's the big thing that makes being in a relationship so wonderful. That person chooses to love you every single day. And they don't have to, there's nothing to stop them falling out of love.
Saying that kids loving you is great. I can't help but go squishy when my niece goes "aunty Genni, I love you soooo much" and she's not even mine. And knowing that my mummy will always love me whatever I do is also pretty good.
My boyf's brother, has robbed, hit and pushed his mother, stolen from the family, beats, cheats on and forcibly has sex with his girlfriend, graffitis on everything in sight, won't get a job and has called the police many times to report his Mother for made up offences. She struggled to cut off all contact, but now, with hindsight she can honestly say he has near ruined her life and she can't love him anymore.
