The thought of someone killing a 2 year old who knows exactly who mummy is, and has said their first word, and understands pain - that is murder. If you kill that which is unaware (ie humanely) then whats the problem?
If someone came up to me and shot me in the back of the head, I would not suffer, and I would not know what was coming. Similarly foetus is not going to be aware of whats coming, so there is not fear or anxiety etc.
Really though, I see human life as absolutely nothing sacred. When a human dies, it is no more important to me than any cute ickle bunny rabbit falling under my tyres (obviously I mourn those close to me who have died, but I am only ever sorry that I will miss them, not that they have died in the first place). So I find it hard to feel compassion for something that hasnt even begun to have an effect on the world or for that matter, feel the effect of our world.
