I'm feeling much happier today. I had a long chat with my fiance and we've decided to dramatically scale down our plans for the wedding reception - I no longer have to spent an entire day (and £5k) pretending to be nice to a whole bunch of people I don't know.
Now we're just going for a registry office ceremony (already booked) and a nice meal with 20 people or so. We'll lose the £350 deposit for the posh reception we had booked, but a nicer day will be had by all. :)
