We still saw each other every weekend though and to be honest, being apart in the week meant that when we saw each other at weekends, we really enjoyed and made the most of our time together. Fast forward to my third year at uni (now) and because I study Spanish, I have to spend a year in a Spanish speaking country. So now Im working in Gran Canaria and I have seen my boyfriend for a grand total of 18 days in the last six months which has been pretty rubbish. However, I wouldnt change anything - spending some time apart I think has been really good for us. We've both been able to do our 'own thing' for a bit which has been really cool i.e. making new friends etc. We both trust each other implicitly and make the effort to speak on the phone, webcam, send letters, parcels etc and I have to say we are as in love as ever (sicky I know) So I think my point is that long distance relationships CAN work - if anything being apart from my lovely boy has made me appreciate him more and make more of an effort with him when we are together. Sorry about the essay...!!
