No offense, but I can't see it working. If you break up then I'd say there's a pretty good chance at least one of you will start to like someone else. If you like him enough to think that you'll want to go back to him after a year then at least consider a long-distance relationship! How far away will you be? A lot of people here have had successful LDRs.
its 120 odd miles.... LDR could work, but it could also make things harder, i dunno... im so confused i just know that im gonna miss him sooooo much and if we dont get back together for whatever reason im gonna hate myself for moving awayQuote:

I would've regretted it so much if we broke up with the intention of getting back together...I know I would've got so jealous if he went out etc knowing that he could be getting with anyone. There's no way I could've done that.

Personally, I'd give it a go.
It's not the easiest thing in the world, but I think it would be better [and more likely to last], if you stayed together. A year isn't that long in the grand scheme of things, especially if you feel that he's the one who you wan to be with foreever.
I just think that a break would be a hard thing to come back from after a year, especially if one of you ends up hooking up with someon else in that time.
100 miles isn't too far, about 3 hours, less than. Myself and Tom are 140 miles, he has a full time security job and I'm a full time student with on and off part time jobs and we can still see each other just under every two weeks.
You'll never know until you try.
100 miles would be an hour if you drive fast enough :) nah if my OH moved 100 miles away id go see him every weekend. 100 miles = £10 each way in fuel and as everywhere around here is connected my 70mph roads that it really wouldnt be that much effort to go see him. Id drive there friday night and drive directly from him to my work on monday ...... easy peasy :)
If you dont drive coach and train can be super cheap as previously mentioned :)

Trains are not fast! It takes me an hour and a bit to get to York, which isn't that far really :\
I agree about the long distance thing.. it is hard, SO hard, when someone is far away.. but if you want to be with them for a long long time, it's worth it. Me and my OH have been in a very complicated long distance relationship for a looong time now, it was awful at 200 miles.. he's now 9,000 miles away and has been since April.. but I know he's doing everything he can to come back so we can be together properly. I wouldn't want to be with anyone else in the time being and I couldn't stand the thought of him wanting to break up until he comes back.. we discussed it as an option before (it seemed so much easier, we were arguing a lot about silly things), but we both realised it was not what we wanted at all, the wait will be worth it if everything turns out the way we hope.
I'm scared that things wont work out, and all the time we've spent waiting will be wasted (not to mention the emotional investment), but if we do have our happy ending, this x10 would be worth it!
I've ended my potential LDR... One of the reasons was cost. Train fare alone was £60, and when you factored in having a nice meal and a few drinks it was silly. About £150 every time I saw her! O.o
