Me and my boyfriend keep looking at flats and stuff lately, arghh can't wait. No point in looking really when we won't be moving out until September really, but it's nice anyway. It's sad how many places are saying no pets though :( I'll sneak my little Dave in, he's no trouble. And only a few weeks till our first proper holiday together on our own, exciting times.

I'm worried about this issue eventually, the pet issue that is. Eventually I want to be able to live by myself, hopefully after this final year of uni. But nobody allows pets.

I'm seriously hoping to get a chinchilla this year and hide it at my friends who lives up the road if I have my landlord come over, given they have to give 24hours notice. Sigh :(

I think if the landlord likes you and it's not going to be a smelly pet, most might be a bit flexible with it...hopefully! My cat spends spends most of his time outside & doesn't use a litter tray so no smell or anything. My mom's always rented, and the house we've been in for 10 years originally said no smoking, no pets - we moved in with a dog and some hamsters, got a cat a year or so later and my mom's never hidden the fact she smokes from them - but since the house doesn't smell of dog/cat/smoke they don't care.

I think mostly because this is a student flat, I'm a bit unsure. I think if I were to re-rent it the year after it might be alright.

We'll see, I need to make sure of what I'm doing, I should be living by myself but things could change.

I have acquired a boyfriend :D:D he's awesome.

I wouldn't have thought a caged animal would be such a big deal? My boyfriend has a chinchilla and his landlords had/have a no pets policy as well, but seen as how it doesn't chew the furniture or cause trouble then they're fine with it :)

The whole flat is complete cream carpets and done up really well, so I'd more concern just in case. He has said I'm pretty much allowed to do whatever as long as I don't trash the place. But it worries me a lot.
