Be careful he's not too cowardly to say he wants to break up with you.
I was silly in my past relationship and kept saying "I want a break" when I simply wanted to break up with him - which is hurtful as it leaves them in hope that everything may be okay again.
Just a warning, as breaks can get dragged out and be hurtful if nothing actually does get resolved.
But then again, maybe he just needs some space - breaks have helped other couples realise what they have missed, and has helped them get their acts together.
Has he mentioned why he wants a break? As that can be a clear indicator on what needs to be fixed or improved?
