General Relationship Thread

Good for you, Sam. A lot of people would ignore that, and certainly not run out and actually get involved. I'm not sure what I'd do in that situation, really...I don't think I'd be brave enough to actually go out there tbh.

I still regret not phoning the police (or some kind of domestic abuse line, or...something) when my dad's girlfriend went a little insane for the millionth time a few years ago =/

believe me, im not brave! i was crappin my pants the whole time while tryin to be the toughest person around! i just thought, "if this was me - i'd want help"
i was thinkin bout it all last night and, i couldnt help feelin like i had made things worse! he would have gone home and hit her cos i got involved, or when hes released from custody (i called the police and charging him with afray on my part) hes still gonna go home and hit her! its lose/lose! and its horrible to think that ! x

i hope shes ok, and i hope she finds the courage to do the right thing!

I have a good friend that's been in really crap relationships, guy before the last was abusive and the guy before that was an extensive drug user, not good at all. She's with someone else now that seems normal enough, though it does suck that it's effected her so much. There is hope though!

Go Sam! That's fantastic that you ran in to help...so many people would have just looked the other way. That's really great of you, and I hope the bastard gets nailed in court. I get that you're worrying about her getting hurt more, but try not to let that make you feel like you didn't do something amazing.

Sam you did the right thing, dont no if i would have been brave enough to step in. hopefully by her seeing you standing upto him it might give her the strength to do the same and leave. you did a great thing.

Well done you. we should all learn from people like yourself, we tend to 'mind our own business' but we should not allow bullies to spoil our lives or of those around us. You done the right thing...risky yes but very brave.

To respond to sambalina: You did a good thing. I would tell you to stay out of it simply for your own personal safety, as he might have attacked you too. It's always better to call the authorities when you see things like that.

I have seen people abuse their kids in public, it's pretty horrible. I feel so powerless sometimes.

I meet Kyle's family today, including his gran, it all kick's off in 12hours!

So bloody nervious and worried!

And don't say they'l like me, his mum won't! She doesn't even like kyle for being gay!
