General Relationship Thread

My wedding cost just over £500

Wedding dress was £130
Registry office £120
I did all the flowers and were artificial so got them even cheaper
I got plain cakes from M&S (with 10% discount) and I decorated it
3 bridesmaids dresses from tkmaxx £30 each (other 2 from ebay for younger ones)
Sister made invites got paper for free as me dad worked in paper factory
Limosine £200
Food was done by landlany at pub where we had our reception :)

I am a bargain queen lol!!!

My sisters which cost them £12k+ which to me is astounding just for one day

thats why we are gonna wait 4yrs :) gives us plenty enough time to get a rough pricing on things, and also to save the much needed cash :)



vix - st james's is a christian church.. does it make a diff? (not really up on the religion thing)

see my best mate who will be maid of honor has pulled up a load of suggestions for me :) just little things (turns out her sister does catering ect an her other sister is a florest)

loads of little things.. :| my head mashed from it already, but its really great and exciting to be thinking about it an discussing it :)

It's funny how we're skimping on some things and splashing out on others.

I can guarantee my dress won't cost more than £120, and I'll be doing my hair and nails myself. We're also going to get an M&S cake and I'm going to decorate it... But I'm spending the remainder of my inheritance on the honeymoon :p

You'll find more of a difference between catholic and protestant churches tbh. Catholics tend to be far more fussy about you actually being a member of the church.... attending mass and all that stuff.
Protestant churches it depends on the 'type' of protestant they are. Church of England/Scotland tend to be more fussy than say Baptists, who despite the name don't always want you to have been baptised.

There's no way to know without asking though. :)

Yeah, I'd ask. My sister got married in our village church and she had never really stepped foot in it before. Neither of my parents go to church, not do any of us girls. The vicar was fine with them getting married there though, since we live in the village. Don't be shy, pop in and ask. Although they did have to fake the whole religion thing.

My boyf's mum had the ultimate bargain wedding. She's a hairdresser so knows millions of people! Her dress was about £100, and it wasn't an actual wedding dress, just a nice black floor length dress from House Of Fraser. Her hustband just wore a random old suit of his! One mate made a nice, decorated cake, another did all the flowers (instead of wedding presents, as theres nothing they really needed!) and the best man drove them to the church in his VW camper van! It ended up super cheap, and the most fitting wedding for the pair of them!

it wont be for a while yet, so no need to rush in askin :)



might end up elopin at this rate lol

i wanna get married at the zoo with my cats as ringbearers and after the ceremony we will pet goats and rabbits
