My brother is in the army. It takes a strong, courageous and pretty damn tough woman to cope with it. And she does, she does it so well.
The army isn't all doom and gloom.
But at the end of the day its his life and if he values his career (not job) more than your relationship surely that should be telling you something. It's not your choice and sad though it is maybe you're not made for each other if you can't stand by him through it.
Are there many women like that? Y'know, who get mad if they don't have sex???? I know guys get edgy if they don't get any...Quote:

My friends boy is in the army, she's totally devoted to him. She loves him so much. He's in Afghanistan atm. Its so hard for her, the other day she heard on the radio that two engineers had been killed, and she phoned me up sobbing her heart out. She had convinced herself that it was him and that she couldn't live without him. (I managed to get on a computer and googled it, turns out the guys killed were too old for him) But she worries all the time. She hasnt seen him since before christmas, and she's had two phone calls since then I think? He's meant to be coming home in the next month, and she says she isnt sleeping at all. Its so hard, none of us can tell you what to do. She wouldn't give him up for the world, but I can see how much it hurts her when he's away.

Amy, you're in a really tough situation and that really sucks.
I think you should respect his possible decision of wanting to join, but I think in your position I would feel the same way. I mean..I guess I really could go through with if that happened if I truly loved the person..but then again, you would sacrificing a lot and possibly being miserable in all the time he's away.
I think I would just hope he's going to change his mind and that you can stay together, but if he doesn't, then you're going to either have to break it off or deal with all of that.
It's your call, obviously, but I wish you luck.

It sounds malicious, but I've been trying to get him to see a doctor about his ''bi-polar'' type tendencies for a long long time, but he won't because he doesn't want anything like that on his medical records and then he definitely won't get in. Which is secretly what I want.

Maybe he will hate you forever, maybe he will be broken, But has he stopped and thought about what he's asking for you to do?
And whilst for a whle you'll be upset because you've lost a friend and a boyfriend surely the truth is that do you really need a friend who you know can ask that of someone?
I'm not trying to talk you into breaking up with him if that's not what you want to do. What I am saying though is look at the bigger picture. Yes he's someone you love when he's your boy, but what do you think he looks like from outside the relationship.
The solution is easy! Amy, Join the army with him. Win!!
