I've been with my fiancé for 3 and a half years - got engaged after 6 months but always planned to have a long engagement. Had a LOT of ups and downs, but it's always been worth it :)
I won't lie - it's been bloomin' hard at times. Relationships are far from easy, no matter what anyone says. They need constant work and adaption. I have a horrible habit of taking him for granted :(
You can only expect to reap what you sow. I can't impart much more wisdom than that :P
I'm going through a divorce, and feeling kinda bitter about relationships in general....I think I'm just going to avoid them altogether in favour of something more *ahem* casual ;) That way you're not going to get hurt. Easy peasy!
And Foo...I always find there are ups and downs, but as long as the ups are good enough to make it worthwhile then it's ok. It's when they aren't, or aren't so frequent...that's when you have a problem.
definitely agree Caz, i think if somethings bothering you you need to sort it out, talk things over so it doesnt just spring up one day and make a future argument worse, always talk things over.
i love my boyfriend, been with him for almost a year and a half and i never imagined id have what i have with him and i love him so much, i know i wanna be with him forever and ive never had that feeling with anyone before. although only being 18 i know my feelings could change but i know thats how i feel now :) the thought of committing to him fully is a lovely one for me
tbh I can't talk. I'm a wreck atm but that's what I tell myself.
