Thank you hun, we totally have <3 so grateful my mum and dad were able to keep looking after them when we had to unexpectedly extend our trip!
Car is still in the garage so we're going back down on the train after I finish work on Tuesday and then hopefully driving back up on Thursday morning.
my girlfriend saying she's going to be taking me away for the weekend after exams :')
she makes me so happy <3
also it just being the three of us today - me and the two people who I lived with last year, it's been like old times. I wish it was just us 3 all the time.

Guy was really nice about it bless him and as soon as we broke down and called the garage they were like get it straight back here and we'll sort it for you, think he's a bit relieved to have the pressure of us (well me) needing to get home off a bit cause he wants to test drive it out to Manc and back incase it cuts out after an hour again. Luckily nick is on my mums insurance and she's given us her car for the next week or so til we (hopefully) get ours back.

I don't think it's ever been standard at garages I've been to to give a courtesy car unless you've been in an accident? I doubt we'd have been able to come home with a courtesy car anyway though as when we got one after the accident last year there was a limit on the mileage you could do and I think 400+ miles (just for the journey home, not including any driving to supermarkets/work etc) in 5 days would be way over the limit.
I think it probably depends on the garage tbh. Although I'd feel a bit hard done by if I'd spent a grand on car repairs only for it to pack in and have to go back to the garage and not be given a courtesy car.
Oh good lord, this is why I'm glad my dad never really got to see super modern cars he'd have hated all the diagnostic stuff lol!Quote:

It sounds like they have done all they can and are working pretty hard on sorting it. I'd dread to think how much repairs would cost at garages if they had some kind of courtesy car system. I get a 'make do' car if theres one available when i take mine in for any reason.
Proper courtesy cars are your insurance not the garage..
