I don't think it's a total scam but sounds like you need to be 100% in, if you don't like it and decide to leave it seems they can suddenly say how much money you owe them.

Thanks, after reading that I've decided to email them and tell them I'm not coming in for an interview, there's no point wasting my time. I'm pretty sure my ex went to an interview for a similar scam when he was looking for jobs.
