The Makeup Thread

Thank you to the ladies who replied about my mac foundation question. I ended up getting Revlon Colourstay foundation and I have to say I am SO impressed. I used the tiniest amount and have almost flawless skin in just one thin layer. It's not even cakey which is really nice considering some foundations can do that really easily on me. The colour is also perfect for my skin which is a first as usually foundations are either too yellow or too pink. I also bought Soap and Glory kickass concealer which I definitely rate too. All in all, I'm such a happy bunny with what I've bought today!

Base coats dont really help with chipping tbh. They are used to prevent damage to the nail and to stop them breaking/flaking as much and as the colour can seep into your nails leaving staining they prevent that too. They also smooth the nail making colour application easier and gives it something to hold onto rather than seep in but nothing really to prevent chipping, that depends on the brand of the colour more than anything and the top coat if you have a good one.

I find basecoats make my polish more likely to peel.
But with a lot of fast dry topcoats you NEED it, otherwise it takes half your nail with it XD

Deborah lippman happy birthday (or any of the other chunky glitters), or maybe Barry M silver cascade with some added hexograms (but I think they stopped making it!)

You could always try and mix your own :D

ETA: Theres also Opi Rainbow Connection (Muppets!),

I can't justify spending £16 on a nail varnish :(

Which one do you use? Ive found a few which are terrible

Atm, back to seche vite.
Seriously, a super easy way to wreck your nails without a basecoat XD Apart from that I adore it.

@Mushed, I know, neither can I :( Tis why I suggested silver cascade, its not nearly as chunky though.
Go buy some craft glitter and shove it in a bottle :D A few drops of colour turns it into a nice jelly too.

Haha good idea! Don't know what would be worse spending £16 on a nail polish or trying to get the bugger off! :P
