so whens the london meet? haha...im kiddin kirsten!
put a write up for eyeliner for me kirsten =]?
I've given up on everyday make up. From now on I'm buying pure pigments because it's that much more versatile.
Granted it costs more but you get a much better effect. Bellapierre being my current favourite brand.
Hmm I saw the blue eyeshadow you were wearing, I didn't like it, but that's my opinion.
I'd get really iratated with that on my eyes!
Well I don't wear make up everyday. I probably wear it once a week, and my feeling is that if I'm going to bother I want it to look daring and noticeable.
I've never seen the point of just wearing a little everyday.
probably, but then I don't wear any!
I don't wear make up all the time but when I do I luuuurve Barry M, and it's either the eyeshadows or eyeliners on offer (3 for a tenner or 2 for 5 quid respectively) so I more often than not pick a few up :D
i loved how it looked, just wish i had the balls to do it!
as i said before im gettin 3 different shades of purple to try out... but im one of them ppl who dont like being stared at, so i stick to light pinks.... i brought a really nice purple lippy yrs back... its still nearly all there...

OMG I couldn't live without my make up....i do wear it everyday (unless it's a sunday and I'm not leaving the house OR I am actually ill I can't physically put it one.
I'll at least wear foundation (even to pop to the shop) and eye liner and mascara and lip gloss
my eyes vary lots though...pink, brown, black, blue, green....different eye liner flicks
i love make up...love it love it love it!!!!
just my personal preference though, not everyone needs it....i definately do
Ok, ok, refreash what the threads about.
How to apply make-up, not that you like it or dislike it.
so if you do love make-up let us little non-make-upers know how to use it!
i tried to do the really thick back once....i looked like a panda within about 2 hrs of work.... just brought the new rimmel liquid eyeliner cause i was usin avon... lets hope this dosnt run.. no matter how thin i do the line.. within 2-3 hrs i look like a panda....blurrgghh

Buy a good eyeshadow brush, and don't be tempted to overload it. It'll just end up flying all over your face. It's easier to add than it is to take away.
I just wear foundation really..
Transparent powder is your friend - even if you don't use it normally, using some under your eyes when applying eyeshadow will catch any spills.
when it comes to eyeliner, I find pulling my eye taught to the outer side of my face makes it easier to apply..if you know what I mean
rimmel liquid eye liner is excellent, if you get a good application on and let it dry nicely it doesn't smudge as much as pencil eyeliners...think this especially true if you're using black as it's really defined with any other eye shadow colour.
definately worth using though 'cause it makes you're eyes stand out more
Q1. what colour eyeshadows would you recomend for somone with blue eyes, pale complection and light blonde hair?
Q2. what brand of eyeliner do you use?
(this is directed to everyone :D)
Dawn xx
Rimmel is one of those brands I always ends up going back to, no matter what I've tried.
don't use a brush to apply face powder, use a sponge or your fingers, then afterwards, use the brush to get rid of any face powder existing, this way, you get a extra nice finish and your make up wont melt, plus, doesn't feel as heavy :D
cherry - I don't know about number 1 because I have dark hair, dark eyes and a dodgy complection haha
but 2. as people have said, Rimmel eyeliner.
ha ha loads seem to think rimmel... great cause i brought it today.
ok
Q3. where's the que for self confidence in wearing daring make up???
lmao
Dawn xx
Anyone know any kind of eyeliner/eyeshadow for sensitive eyes? ANY eyeliner I use will go straight onto my contact lenses when I blink!
I can only use cheep local chemist type stuff, really cheep, the expensive stuff makes my eyes water like crazy, i have blue eyes and wear alsorts of colours, though I'm sticking to greys and silvers at the mo.
Whack it on!Quote:
Q3. where's the que for self confidence in wearing daring make up???
The trick is to use one really daring thing - if you're going for mad eyes, go neutral for the lips, for example.
yeah green is good with blue eyes and there's loads of greens out there in the shops at the moment
and rimmel is good for eye liners
My Guide on Eyeliner:
hmm, i'm not very good with words steph, but i will give it a go.
(i will add pictures eventually)
okay i use liquid eyeliner on the top eyelid:
MAC liquidlast liner in point black
http://www.maccosmetics.com/template...CT_ID=PROD9961
it comes in loads of other colours too, and is really nice and dark!
quite expensive though and not easy to apply.
think i might get a different MAC one when this one runs out as i find the brush quite difficult to use to get a thick line.
another good one is the Rimmel exaggerate one, which is about £5 so not too expensive, which has a nice thick applicator and is sort of spongey as opposed to a brush, so it's easier to apply if you're not used to using it. it is quite runny though, and does smudge a bit.
When applying liquid eyeliner make sure you use quite small strokes, as if you apply it all in one go you're likely to end up smudging it!
Okay, when I'm applying liquid eyeliner i sort of stretch my eyelid out and rest my elbow on the table to make sure my arm is steady.
Start from the inner corner of the eyelid and draw just above the lash line outwards.
I usually apply a couple of coats, to make sure it's even.
Doing the bottom part of the eye can be a little trickier, but practice makes perfect!
i usually start from the outer corner of the eye, apply a little bit, then the inner corner of the eye and join it up in the middle, i usually find it makes a nice even line that way.
paint a thin line just below the lash line, not too close to the eye or you'll end up blinding yourself! also if you leave a little gap between the eyeliner and your eye it makes them look bigger.
then if you want a more dramatic look paint over the line again slightly thicker.
i usually do little flicky bits at the corner of my eyes, just follow the line on your top lid and extend it out from your eye in a flick, and blend in with the bottom line.
If you want a more subtle look, leave the flick part out.
If you want a more smokey look use kohl eyeliner on the bottom part of your eye. Apply as above, using small strokes, and smudge a little bit.
hope this is helpful?
if anyone wants any other tips let me know!
Ah thanks :)
cat i think almay is supposed to be for sensitive skin/eyes
it's hypoallergenic
Welcome, if no luck with that, the benefit eyeliner is good, expensive, but has a sponge on the end of it.
how long does it generaly take you to do this, is it somthin i could do before going to work?
how long will it last.. i.e i work 13hr shifts... do i need to take make up artist to work for touch-ups during my shift.. cause if i do, i dont think the nurse in charge would be happy lmao :D
thank you, was really in depth...
*has somthin to try tomorrow whilst dyin hair*
Dawn xx
just to let everyone know
most eye pencils are hypoallergenic, all the ones i've used in the past are anyway
Anyway i have a question :)
I have really really bright green eyes, (i'll post a pic in a moment)
i have no idea which colours will look good, bearing in mine i don't want a dramatic look
any tips?
