I'd say for earpiercings a limit of age 8 would be decent. At least then kids are starting to understand choices they make and are able to be responsible for things, like aftercare. Although I would also take the child itself into consideration. If they don't act responsible then I personally would wait another year or two.
I am for the ban on guns though. Aware that it will never happen. But it would be great. Whatever happens I would always take a kid to an actual piercer who wont use guns, ever.

I agree it's definitely not right to pierce a baby

I'm curious, do parents take care of the earrings like they're supposed to with the aftercare and stuff? O_O

It sure is, Claires Accessories thrives off it.

There's very few actual laws regarding piercing in the UK.

Personally I grew up with everyone getting their piercing done as a baby and it's always been something normal . I've had mine done for my entire life and I never thought too much of it. The whole piercing and circumcision is part of culture and tradition here and I've never met anyone who opposed it so this is so weird to me.

My ears were pierced several times when I was little, I didn't look after them properly and had to keep getting them re done as I tried to change them early etc. I'd have said 8 - 10 is a good age.

I think ear piercings should be allowed only when the child is old enough to ask for them... Just my opinion ☺️
