Aye 3mm to 4mm is a bit of a nightmare. If you can't find 3.2mm or 3.5mm jewellery (it does exist though) you can try taping.
Or just wait longer, doing daily oil massages you're dead right not to force it though. Stretching lobes should always be an easy smooth pain-free process.
what's a few seconds of pain for a lifetime of shiny?

    Both lobes 1/2", 5mm, 1.6mm
Left rook & 5mm helix punch
Right helix x2 & forward helix
    VCH, 5mm tongue

It says 2.4 to 3.2, I went smaller to 3mm because that's what size the plugs came in, does that mean I need 3.5 before 4's?

Edit, didn't see your post kitebunny, think I'll try taping, I'm to chicken to force it anyhow lol, it hurts! I didn't realize the PTFE tape was just plumbers tape, so that will be way easier to find now.

Mentioning the use of half sizes, no matter what size you're stretching to, is a good idea also. Especially since some peeps lobes do not like 1mm stretches no matter how long they wait in between stretches.

When my lobes where at 6mm's they just did not want to go to 7mm's after a six month wait, so I ended up ordering glass plugs in 6.5mm's. They went in easy as pie. Had the same happen again when I tried getting to 8mm's from 7mm's, so I got glass plugs in 7.5mm's. (I used the taper method first, then switched to taping from 4mm's. Personally I find glass plugs are much better to stretch with though.)

Future: Eyebrow (L), 1st lobes (1/2"), scaffold (L), nape, nips, nostril (L), outer conch punch (6/8mm), VCH.

Yeah, I can bet a half size will go in no worries, as I can get a +1mm taper halfway through but no further. I'll try some glass plugs in half sizes as suggested

I just want to keep stretching but I don't dare to go any further from 20mm. I might get my lobes pierced again and stretch them at some point. Little plugs would just look cute
    Call me Henna c:

    Current piercings:
Left ear: 20mm lobe, 1.6mm lobe
Right ear: 20mm lobe, 2mm lobe
Face: bridge, 2mm septum, 2x lower lip, tongue
    6 tattoos

    Retired:
    2 x eyebrow, navel, 2 x lip

    Want:
Navel redone and perhaps finally a helix..

I realise this isn't about lobes so apologies in advance BUT tongue stretching - Same principles as lobe stretching?

Pretty much, but without the oil massages :P you might find you need to go up in half sizes. I really recommend glass tonguebars, and delrin (or PTFE) from Southshore Adornments. They can be made in full or half sizes, with o-ring grooves
what's a few seconds of pain for a lifetime of shiny?

    Both lobes 1/2", 5mm, 1.6mm
Left rook & 5mm helix punch
Right helix x2 & forward helix
    VCH, 5mm tongue
