    Lightbulb GUIDE - Buying/Selling

These are by no means rules, just some ideas to bear in mind.

    Selling

Try and post a photo of your item.
Include prices, many people don't like the guess the value of an item.
Give a full description - gauge, material, length, worn/unworn etc
Include the postage method you'll use.
For fragile items use a box, mail can be roughly treated.
Use the Royal Mail website to work out postage costs and include them.
Use tracking if the item is worth more than 20 or your mail gets lost often.
Retain a proof of posting from the post office to prove it's been sent.
Communicate well with your buyer, message when payment received, item has been sent, tracking information etc
Try to post the items yourself, leaving with partners/friends etc means you do not know when the item/s have been dispatched.
Put a return address on the parcel/packet in case of problems.
For international items be aware that marking the value lower means you will not be fully compensated if the items are lost/damaged.

    Buying

Don't agree to send money as a gift unless you are happy to waive your rights to a claim if the item doesn't get to you.
Pay when you say you can and try not to ask for items to be held for long periods of time.
Make sure your address on paypal is up to date.
Avoid sending cash through the post as payment as it's not insured.
Communicate well with your seller in case of any payment delays and let them know when you have got your item by sending a message or posting in the feedback thread.
Make sure to read descriptions carefully and ask questions if you're not sure you understand anything.
If buying international remember that you will be liable for any customs fees/charges.

    Trading

All I will say on this is trade with people you trust!

Feel free to add any further suggestions!
