    Default Tragus Bump

I had my tragus pierced just over 3 months ago, and it seems to be doing quite well. I irritated it a little by attempting to change it after 6 weeks (piercer told me I could), and by knocking it. It developed a little bump but I kept SSS-ing and got the bar changed to a bioflex labret stud so it was a little easier.

Anyway, it seems that there's a bump, although it's hard for me to see, because although it's on the front, it's at a tough angle for me to look at, but it looks raised, is only around one half of the hole, and looks pink and shiny.

Do you think it's just hypertropic scarring that just needs more SSS? I've got a bit lax about it recently.

    ETA: Looks like this:

Yep, hypertrophic scarring I'm thinking. Try chomomile tea bag soaks, they're brill for pissy cartilage, very soothing. No picking/poking/jewellery fiddling/try to avoid using ear bud headphones/putting make up near it/hairspray/sleeping on it/etc You get the gist.

If that doesn't fix it, try a dab of tea tree oil on a cotton bud/q-tip.

    Now
    : 8/9mm lobes. 6mm septum. double conch.
helix. tongue. rook. 5mm conch punch.
central labret. L nipple. industrial. 9 tattoos.

    Retired: snakebites. nostril x 2. 2nd & 3rd lobes.
    helix. outer conch.

    Next: tattoos.

Ok, will get some chamomile tea and try that. I'm SSS-ing a couple of times a day. Luckily I don't put make up on my ear but I will have to be good and not fiddle!

You can also just put your 1/4 teaspoon of sea salt into hot chamomile tea and combine the two treatments to save you time.

I'd say thats standard hypertrophic scarring so nothing to worry about as it just needs some babying!

Thanks Kuku, I thought so but I did want to make sure. I'm sad, because it was looking so happy last week! I guess the fact that I'm pretty run down at the moment isn't helping (my thesis is due in next week), so it figured it would demand some attention to!

I'll get going on the chamomile + salt and hopefully all will be well soon.

As advised, am sticking my head in a bowl (well, it's more comfortable than a mug!) of chamomile tea + salt for several minutes. Then I wipe around the piercing with a cotton bud dipped in the solution. It's definitely producing something, probably lymph (pale, almost clear, like crusties before they go crusty). Does that sound fairly normal?

Sounds normal to me, probably lymph or sebum both of which are normal and natural. Sea salt soaks pull things out so it might be that your piercing is draining better now!

If it counts for anything, you aren't alone! I'm having the EXACT same issues with mine.
