I had my nostril pierced last month.. and I admit, I messed about with it too quickly.
But I have a horrible looking bump on it, and although I don't fiddle with the jewellery, sometime the ball kind of embeds itself in the bump, and when I pull it away from the bump it starts bleeding. Every time.
I've soaked it and cleaned it and tea-tree oiled it and LITHA'd everything else I can think of. Would the bump go away quicker if I took the stud out?
I've never been bothered about bumps on things before, I always look after them and theyve always gone away... but with this being on my face, I'm very conscious about it, and I'm getting fed up with my workmates "commenting" on it.
I don't mind losing it, cause I can just get something else pierced instead.
Well the stud sinking in is no way helping it, what sort of jewellery have you got? If you want to keep it I'd get it changed to something possibly with a bigger end or with a longer stem/post. Which will be a bitch to start with changing the jewellery again but will be beneficial in the long run. I would go to a piercer and have them do it because it'll be done in a cleaner environment and it'll probably cause less trauma to your nose!
Have you tried chamomile tea bags? Alot of people rave about them on here so they must do something! Apparently they're dead good with cartilage piercings that keep flaring up.
However, if you just want to give up just give up. Take it out, sea salt soak and just leave it. The bump should go down in a week or two, I took my tragus out when it had a bump on it and it dissapeared in a couple of weeks.
Oh and you know what will stop your workmates commenting on it? Give 'em a good biff round the head.

What is your jewellery made of? I had a huge bump with my nostril piercing, tried everything to get rid of it and nothing worked, I had the bump for about 6 months. Then changed to titanium jewellery and it cleared up straight away and hasn't come back
