    Default Bio-Oil & Keloid

Does anybody know if Bio-Oil will help to reduce keloid scarring?
And yes, it's definitely a keloid.

    Cheers

I'm not sure whether it will work on a keloid. I swear by it for my scars/blemishes. Give it a try.

Doubt it. Could give it a try, but real keloids tend not to budge without the help of steroids/surgery.

I'm not sure really about it working on a keloid, but...

Bio-oil is fantastic.. I use buckets loads of the stuff, it's great on scars, stretch marks, and helps the `bump' and general crappy annoyed skin..

I can't see it making it worse unless you're allergic to any of the ingredients, so give it a good month to see if anything happens???

becky, you're probably best off to go to the doctors for a steroid injection into the keloid. my neighbour had one and that was her first port of call, unfortunately it didn't work for her and in the end she had surgery to remove it.
apparently the surgery was very very minor and she only had a couple of stitches, and she could sleep on her left side (she had a keloid as a result of a nasty bite from a dog) where the keloid was that night. she was in for a few hours at most

Thanks everyone, I'll keep using it and go to the doctors if I don't see a problem soon.
It's only fairly small and on the back of my ear (from a helix piercing I retired more than 6 months ago), so it's not a major problem, but it's... disgusting, so I don't want it there, haha.
